We view the bible as the Word of God. The teachings found within are trustworthy and dependable. However, often times people can have some trouble with the fact that it all takes place halfway around the world. Our panelists answer a question about America and the bible.
The typical answer from Christian doctrine is that God was revealing Himself through His relationship with His chosen people: Israel. While Jesus was born a Jew, His sacrifice was for all mankind.
Another odd question that often comes up is "what about the USA in the end times?"
There are a whole lot of far more educated scholars than me who have all sorts of opinions on this. The easy answer is that we do not seem to be present in the events laid out in Revelation. If this nation still exists it certainly doesn't seem to play a pivotal role. My personal opinion on the matter is that if the most powerful nation on earth is a democratic, freedom loving, still majority christian nation then the Anti-Christ will not so easily rise to power.
Whether we are involved or not, and even should this great nation go the way of the dodo, whatever happens on this earth God is still on His throne in Heaven.
